Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education and Civil Service Pension Corporation Sign Agreement... Deployment from June
【Financial News Gwangju=Hwang Tae-jong Reporter】Retired civil servants in the Gwangju area will support field trips in frontline schools.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 27th that it signed an 'Agreement for Providing Field Trip Assistant Personnel' with the Gwangju-Jeonbuk Branch of the Civil Service Pension Corporation in the situation room.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, this agreement aims to support safer field trips, and retired civil servants will be deployed as assistant personnel during field trips.
Previously, the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education recruited 458 retired civil servants through the Gwangju-Jeonbuk Branch of the Civil Service Pension Corporation and conducted pre-safety training such as CPR practice and theoretical education for 314 of them on May 21 and June 2.
The trained assistant personnel will undergo verification procedures such as checking for criminal and child abuse records and will be introduced to schools in the form of a personnel pool in June. Schools wishing for assistant personnel can appoint necessary personnel as volunteers from this pool, considering gender, age, residence, and pre-retirement job series.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education plans to support the labor costs of assistant personnel for schools wishing for it, providing 100,000 won per assistant personnel per class participating in the field trip (based on 8 hours).
Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon said, "This agreement is a win-win model that strengthens safety in the educational field while expanding the social contribution of retired civil servants," and "We will realize educational administration that prioritizes student safety."
