[Financial News] BlackRock announced on the 27th that Mirae Asset Management, one of the largest asset management companies in Korea, will adopt BlackRock's integrated investment and risk management platform 'Aladdin' and its 'eFront Insight' solution to enhance its private market investment data and analytics capabilities. Through this, BlackRock plans to provide Mirae Asset with private asset data collection, processing, and analysis services to improve operational efficiency and achieve growth goals in the private market sector.
Private market assets are increasingly becoming important assets in investment portfolios. According to Preqin, a global alternative investment market research institution, the size of assets under management (AUM) in the global alternative investment sector is expected to exceed 30 trillion dollars (approximately 4 quadrillion 100 trillion won) by 2030. Despite this growth, the management of these assets is still often done manually, and data is dispersed across multiple systems, hindering operational efficiency and quick investment decisions.
Mirae Asset Management can now manage comprehensive and detailed information on private market data and held assets in real-time in one place by utilizing eFront Insight's proprietary technology. This allows them to proactively identify market trends and quickly respond to changes. Additionally, the analytical capabilities of eFront Insight are expected to help make investment decisions based on an accurate understanding of portfolio risks and performance.
Mirae Asset Management's Moon Soo-Young, head of the Overseas Private Investment Team, said, "Korea's investor base is diversifying beyond institutional investors such as pension funds and insurance companies to include general corporations and high-net-worth individuals (HNW)." He added, "By leveraging Aladdin's eFront solution, we can expand and customize services to meet the demands of investors employing a wide range of investment strategies across various asset sizes."
Huimin Loh, head of BlackRock Aladdin's alternative asset business development in the Asia-Pacific region, said, “We are very pleased to add BlackRock Aladdin's eFront Insight solution to Mirae Asset's private investment capabilities through our collaboration with Mirae Asset.” He continued, “eFront Insight supports data collection, validation, and digitization, helping investors focus on high-value-added areas such as portfolio analysis and asset allocation.” He added, “BlackRock is committed to enhancing transparency in the private market, and this collaboration is a good example of these efforts.”
