[Financial News] Lee Nak-yeon, Senior Advisor of the Sae Mirae Democratic Party, strongly asserted the legitimacy of the alliance, stating it is "a role of a balancer to prevent the emergence of a monster dictatorship," after formalizing a joint message with Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, on the 27th. Senior Advisor Lee hinted that it is not a complete break from the Democratic Party by saying, "I still have Democratic Party DNA," but criticized the current Democratic Party by saying "even the atmosphere has become extinct."
In a Q&A session with reporters on the morning of the day, Senior Advisor Lee said, "I stepped forward to prevent a situation where we have to worry about the emergence of a monster dictatorship," and "that is the starting point to explain my political moves."
Regarding recent criticism from Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Min-seok, who called the alliance with Candidate Kim Moon-soo a "minus 10-point disastrous union," he responded, "I don't want to respond to words from people who only slander others," and "I loved the Democratic Party more than them, not less."
He also emphasized that he still shares some of the Democratic Party's identity. Senior Advisor Lee said, "I believe that the path of controlling the three powers and becoming a monster dictatorship is not included in the Democratic Party's DNA," and "I still have Democratic Party DNA."
However, he also said, "If the Democratic Party had presented a candidate without criminal charges, this situation would not have occurred," and "Before the Democratic Party feels disappointed with me, they should reflect on why they had no choice but to make such a decision."
Finally, Senior Advisor Lee said, "Our force is not large compared to the two major parties, but we have a legitimate cause," and "though it's a lonely path, I will play the role of the last balancer to prevent a monster dictatorship."
