Gangnam District Office, No Separate Administrative Action Taken
[Financial News] It has been identified that the entertainment venue, where Judge Ji Gwiyun of the Seoul Central District Court was allegedly entertained, was caught in a past crackdown but was cleared by the police.
According to Gangnam District Office on the 27th, venue A located in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, was caught in a 2014 crackdown on unlicensed entertainment bars but was cleared of charges by police investigation and not indicted.
The Gangnam District Office, which received the police's non-indictment document at the time, did not take any separate administrative action against this venue.
According to the materials released by the office of Yang Bunam, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker, on the 25th, the venue, which Judge Ji allegedly visited, was caught in a January 28, 2014, crackdown by Cheongdam Police Station on unlicensed entertainment bars. This venue was registered as a karaoke bar, which legally cannot employ entertainment workers.
The current Food Sanitation Act stipulates that operating an entertainment bar without a license is punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 100 million won.
