[Financial News] Bitlayer, a project implementing a Bitcoin virtual machine, announced on the 27th that it has decided to form a strategic partnership with three global Bitcoin mining companies: Antpool, F2Pool, and Spiderpool. These companies are responsible for 40% of global Bitcoin mining.
Bitlayer explained that through this partnership, non-standard transactions (NST), which are the core of the 'BitVM Bridge', can be processed by the three mining companies, including Antpool. NSTs are transaction methods that are allowed on the BTC blockchain itself but are mostly blocked by the software (core client) used by general mining companies.
The BitVM Bridge is a decentralized tool that helps safely transfer Bitcoin to other blockchains, with all procedures automatically verified and approved through code.
Bitlayer evaluated that the collaboration with these mining companies will be a turning point in realizing the potential of BitVM Bridge technology and that infrastructure for Bitcoin rollup development has been established. The three mining companies, including Antpool, are responsible for approximately 36.2% of total Bitcoin mining.
Andy, CEO of Antpool, said, "Bitlayer's BitVM Bridge technology will allow BTC to safely enter the DeFi and Layer 2 ecosystems," adding, "Antpool will become an operator of the Bitlayer Bridge to support BTC innovation and protect the interests of miners."
