[Financial News] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 27th that it will announce new collaborative effect research and development (R&D) projects to enhance the technological competitiveness of SMEs and create joint commercialization results.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups introduced this project for the first time this year, aiming to solve common problems through collaboration among SMEs and spread the developed technology throughout the industry.
The R&D support fund for each sub-project is up to 600 million won over two years. This year's new support scale is a total of 7-8 projects and 25 sub-projects. Each project can be composed of 2-4 sub-projects, and if composed of 4 sub-projects per project, up to 2.4 billion won can be supported.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups received 82 request for proposals (RFPs) from SMEs and cooperatives in the demand survey conducted to plan the tasks of this project.
This competition is conducted in a designated competition method based on a total of 17 RFPs discovered in the demand survey results. Major tasks include AI-based water and sewage treatment monitoring technology, fine dust reduction technology, and tasks supporting the convergence of manufacturing and AI platform technology in the textile, dyeing, and steel sectors.
Applications for the competition will be accepted from June 16 to 30. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to focus on examining the appropriateness of the implementation system and role-sharing among participating companies regarding consortium feasibility. In addition, it will designate a general institution and consortium manager and support the strengthening of participating companies' commercialization capabilities through regular networking operations such as performance-sharing meetings.
Companies wishing to participate in the project can apply online through the integrated research support system website by June 30.
