[Financial News] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Suwon Special City will host the '2025 Suwon ITS Asia-Pacific Conference' at the Suwon Convention Center from the 28th to the 30th for 3 days.
The ITS Asia-Pacific Conference is a platform for international cooperation to strengthen policy and technology exchanges between public and private sectors, and cooperation between countries and companies in the Asia-Pacific region. It is held in Korea for the first time in 23 years since 2002.
This conference, under the theme of hyper-connected cities presented by ITS, will involve experts from over 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, domestic ITS academia, industry, and research participants, and about 10,000 general citizens. Various activities such as △meetings △exhibitions △technology demonstrations and tours will discuss the present and future of ITS.
This year's conference is the largest ever among ITS Asia-Pacific Conferences, with ministers from 12 countries participating. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to actively continue this interest into overseas expansion based on Korea's enhanced status in the international community through the process of attracting the Asia-Pacific and World Conferences.
During the conference, Minister Park Sang-woo of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will hold a high-level meeting with ministers from 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region to share the ITS status of each country. In addition, key messages will be adopted to strengthen cooperation for digital transformation and present a common vision, establishing a sustainable international cooperation relationship.
In particular, during this conference, various support such as government diplomacy and private business matching will be provided to actively promote the overseas expansion of our companies. Minister Park plans to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation through bilateral meetings and signing of MOUs with major partner countries.
At the conference site, a communication platform will be opened to easily experience and understand ITS in everyday life. Opportunities to understand ITS concepts such as real-time optimal route search, traffic signal operation, Hi-Pass, and parking lot number recognition are provided.
Opportunities for exchange and cooperation will also be provided for students interested in ITS as well as ITS field experts. Through over 50 academic sessions with domestic and international experts, the latest trends in ITS and innovative technologies and service cases at home and abroad will be shared. An ITS Ideathon competition involving domestic university and graduate students will also be held.
Various programs for general visitors will also be conducted. Through exhibition tours, quiz events, and technology experiences, various fields of ITS can be confirmed.
Especially on the evening of the 28th, a drone art show at Gwanggyo Lake Park will announce the splendid opening of an international event with citizens.
Minister Park said, "Through the conference, I will emphasize the need to establish a pan-national governance to open the hyper-connected era," and "I will fulfill the heavy responsibility of Korea, which is hosting the Asia-Pacific and World Conferences consecutively."
