The volunteer activity is part of social contribution with Korea Habitat, and the Korean Re Volunteer Corps participated in the production of 'Hai Home'. Hai Home is an abbreviation for 'Habitat Mobile Housing', and is efficiently used for the urgent securing of residences for disaster victims and improving the residential environment of housing vulnerable groups.
The house produced by the Korean Re Volunteer Corps will be moved to Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do, and provided to self-reliant youth, young farmers and returnees to rural areas, contributing to the establishment of a settlement base in areas at risk of population extinction and the formation of self-reliance and social networks among young people.
Won Jong-kyu, CEO of Korean Re, who participated directly in the volunteer activity, said, "For self-reliant youth who lack an economic foundation, housing is the first step towards independence and the foundation for continuing their dreams," and "I hope this activity, which fills the blind spot of housing welfare, will be a small help for the new start of young people."
Meanwhile, Korean Re has been cooperating with Korea Habitat for 13 consecutive years since 2013, continuing support and volunteer activities for housing vulnerable neighbors. This year, a total of 50 employees will visit the site for volunteer work three times in the first half of the year.
