S2W recently announced on the 27th that it appeared on the representative current affairs program 'Close-up Gendai' of Japan's public broadcaster NHK to introduce its AI technology for tracking cyber crimes.
The broadcast on this day aired with the theme of the vulnerable security environment in Japan, where cyber threats are rampant due to successive securities account hijacking incidents and phishing email attacks, and the need for countermeasures. In addition, regarding Korea, it was mentioned as an "exemplary overseas case where the government leads in addressing security issues, multi-factor authentication (MFA) is widely distributed across society, and citizens' security awareness is high," and introduced S2W as a company that developed unique AI technology to counter the rapidly increasing AI misuse crime groups, and as the developer of the world's first dark web specialized language model 'DarkBERT'.
Following this, Shim Sunhyeong, the chief researcher of S2W, appeared to demonstrate how the national/industry/company-specific search filtering of the cyber security big data platform 'XARVIS', based on DarkBERT, clearly identifies the status of leaked account information of Japanese securities investors being traded on the dark web. Additionally, using the user profiling tool 'DarkSpider' embedded in XARVIS, he analyzed the specific behavior patterns and characteristics of threat actors who attacked the Japanese financial sector.
S2W's appearance on Japanese broadcasting is the second time following its introduction in the documentary program 'BS Special' of NHK BS last September, where it also showcased the utilization cases of DarkBERT and XARVIS based on it with the theme of 'The Current State of Cyber Crimes in IT Powerhouse Korea and Advanced Investigation Techniques', receiving high attention.
Furthermore, since January this year, it has been regularly publishing a monthly ransomware report in 'Nikkei X Tech', a technology specialized media under Nihon Keizai Shimbun, and in March, it signed a threat intelligence platform service contract with Japanese government agencies. Additionally, last month, it entered into a strategic partnership with the Japanese digital marketing company 'Material Digital', continuing its wide-ranging activities in the Japanese market and expanding its contact points with local companies, institutions, and media.
Seo Sangdeok, CEO of S2W, said, "I am deeply honored that S2W has been introduced as a major Korean cyber security company on NHK, Japan's most prestigious broadcaster, for the second year in a row," and "I hope this broadcast can serve as a momentum to further solidify our position in Japan, Asia's largest information technology (IT) market."
