[Financial News] Global sports brand Under Armour announced on the 27th that 1500 participants gathered for the first 'UA Next Combine' in Korea, held at the Pie Factory in Gwangjin-gu from the 23rd to the 25th, successfully concluding the event.
This competition featured a tournament format where participants competed in six key elements: speed, power, agility, endurance, cognitive reaction, and jumping ability, with a total prize of 50 million won. Particularly, the participation of the 2030 generation was active, and the design and event composition applying the hexagonal human concept attracted attention.
On the first day, various athletes, including volleyball player Kim Yeon-koung and basketball player Lee Hyun-jung, participated, adding to the excitement. The individual competition consisted of eight performance tests, and the team competition was conducted in six events, including a 6-person team relay.
The men's individual competition was won by Son Tae-hyun (584.6 points), and the women's individual competition was won by Seo Yu-rim (563.8 points), each receiving 3 million won and Under Armour products. The team competition winner, 'Under the Solbi' team, received 10 million won and products.
The Under Armour UA Combine (COMBINE), which started in 2021 in four countries including Singapore and Australia, combined with the global program UA Next (NEXT) that selects and supports elite and amateur athletes with the highest potential, was held for the first time in Korea as a performance test platform. Under Armour plans to continue providing sports challenge opportunities in the future.
