【Financial News Muan=Hwang Taejong Reporter】Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 27th that teachers from the 'Jeonnam 2030 Class Research Association' are exploring ways to practice glocal education and innovate classes by traveling to overseas educational sites such as Australia, Canada, and Germany.
According to Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, they plan to lay the foundation for international cooperation leading to a transformation of Jeonnam-style classes by promoting '2030 International Education Exchange' for 207 teachers.
This international education exchange aims to create a sustainable cooperation ecosystem, strengthen class innovation and glocal education capabilities, and Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has selected a total of 46 teams, including 5 teams for early childhood, 23 teams for elementary, and 18 teams for secondary, through a public contest. Participating teachers belong to the class research association centered around the 2030 classroom.
They are teachers who have completed training to strengthen class innovation capabilities conducted in the first half of the year and will carry out tasks such as △joint classes with overseas schools △collection of glocal education and class innovation cases △participation in educational conferences around the world.
To this end, they will directly visit countries that participated in the '2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo', such as Australia, Canada, Singapore, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Germany, and the United Kingdom, to collaborate with local educational institutions by the end of October.
In particular, the exchange group visiting Malaysia will draw attention by conducting joint classes using the work 'Tears Box' by Nobel Prize-winning author Han Kang. Special classes where Korean and Malaysian students meet online to share emotions and empathize through literature will also continue.
The results of this international education exchange will be shared at the '2030 Class Festival' held on November 22. Each team will release videos documenting the exchange process and present cases from joint class preparation to execution and post-activity, sharing various cultural interactions and educational significance.
Superintendent Kim Dae-jung said, "Jeonnam teachers are promoting Korean education and culture at educational sites around the world while expanding points of contact with global education," adding, "I hope this international exchange will serve as a foundation for fostering multicultural sensitivity in students and glocal education capabilities and pride in teachers."
