[Financial News] Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced on the 27th that it will hold the '18th Busan Port Festival' in celebration of the 30th Sea Day on the 30th and 31st, in collaboration with Busan City and Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, at the outdoor parking lot of Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, North Port Waterside Park, and the area around the Yeongdo National Maritime Museum.
This year's festival has expanded in scale compared to previous years by newly adding Hallyu cultural content such as a K-pop concert in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'MyK FESTA'.
On the first day of the festival, the 30th, from 10 a.m., a K-pop expo showcasing the latest technologies applied to K-pop by entertainment companies will be held at the outdoor parking lot of the International Passenger Terminal. At the Wyndham Grand Busan Hotel, a K-pop conference will be held inviting domestic and international K-pop industry stakeholders to discuss the future prospects of artificial intelligence (AI) and the music industry.
On the same day, starting at 7 p.m., a concert featuring Super Junior-D&E, CNBLUE, N.Flying, ITZY, Kyungseo, Dori, and Jo Jjaezu will heat up the stage. Following this, at 9:30 p.m., the highlight of the opening event, the Busan Port fireworks show, will begin.
The next day, the 31st, at North Port Waterside Park, 'K-pop Cover Dance' featuring artists from around the world, 'Port Play' with various genres of busking performances, and 'Global Port Park' where you can introduce and experience diverse cultural content from around the world will be held.
In addition, various cultural and recreational events such as a children's sea love essay and drawing contest, Busan Port tour, large ship open event, and marine mission stamp tour will be operated at various event locations.
Detailed information about the Busan Port Festival can be found on the Busan Festival Organizing Committee website.
BPA President Song Sang-geun said, "The Busan Port Festival is a representative citizen-participatory port festival of Busan, a festival ground where the sea, city, people, and port come together as one, and a meaningful occasion to reaffirm the status of Korea's maritime capital."
