[Financial News] The European flagship airline Finnair announced on the 27th that it will increase flights to Lapland, Finland, to the largest scale ever for the 2025 winter season. Located in northern Finland, Lapland is a popular winter travel destination where you can enjoy unique experiences such as aurora hunting and visiting Santa's village.
As the official airline of Santa Claus, Finnair will significantly increase the Rovaniemi route, Santa Claus's hometown. The Helsinki-Rovaniemi route will operate up to 72 times a week, 10 more than the previous winter season. Especially on weekends when travelers flock, it will operate up to 16 times on Saturdays and up to 14 times on Sundays.
The Ivalo route, at the northernmost part of Finland, will operate up to 33 times a week, and the Kittilä route will increase by 7 times compared to the previous year, operating 41 times a week.
Additionally, Finnair will expand flights to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, which is particularly in high demand among Korean travelers, by 4 times compared to the existing schedule, operating a total of 11 times a week. Iceland, with its diverse natural scenery such as volcanoes, glaciers, hot springs, and waterfalls, is a travel destination where you can feel the wonders of nature.
Kim Dong-hwan, head of Finnair's Korea branch, said, "Finnair is the undisputed leading airline of Northern Europe, operating direct flights to Lapland all year round," adding, "With the largest number of seats prepared for this winter season, we hope more Korean travelers can enjoy the beautiful winter of Northern Europe."
Meanwhile, travelers planning a trip to Lapland can use the Seoul-Helsinki route, which operates 7 times a week, to arrive in Helsinki and then transfer to their destination.
