Inspected 1433 Places and Found 207 Violations
[Financial News] The police conducted a special inspection of firearms and explosives to ensure the safety and security of the candidates ahead of the 21st presidential election.
The National Police Agency announced on the 27th that since last month, they have conducted special inspections of 1433 places handling firearms and explosives nationwide, discovering 207 violations.
Among these, △135 corrective actions △71 repairs and reinforcements △1 administrative disposition were immediately taken.
The police will prohibit the release of privately owned firearms from 9 p.m. on the 28th until 5 p.m. on the 4th of the following month, ahead of the early voting starting on the 29th.
From next month, they will collaborate with the Firearms and Explosives Safety Technology Association to conduct precise safety inspections and check for violations, combining guidance and management.
An official from the National Police Agency stated, "Firearms and explosives can lead to major accidents even with minor negligence, so we will continue inspections and management for safety."
