[Financial News] Busan City announced on the 27th that it will provide various support, including hosting pet festivals, to revitalize the operation of pet-specialized streets.
The pet-specialized street in the underground shopping mall from Gwang-an Station to Suyeong Station on Metro Line 2 is the longest pet complex culture and shopping space in the country, stretching approximately 200m. Currently, around 40 related businesses, including animal hospitals, pet hotels and cafes, pet beauty salons, adoption centers, pet food stores, and pet supply stores, are concentrated here.
The city is operating various programs for pet owners visiting this place, such as on-site animal registration support, pet health check-ups, pet etiquette education, hygiene management, beauty management, and issuing QR-linked pet cards.
The 'Pet Station Open House' event, held for two days from May 31 to June 1, will feature various events such as free grooming and massage, free tasting of 'Mongpuccino', and free health consultations.
In July, a pet festival will be held in the specialized street area to provide citizens with various sights and experiences, aiming to spread pet culture and enhance social awareness.
Additionally, plans are in place to promote the pet-specialized street through the installation of road signs in the ground section, attaching guide signs from the metro entrance to the underground shopping mall, in-train announcements, display boards in stations, and promotional events on the city's website.
The city also plans to support the startup of pet businesses and provide advice for market development and sales expansion.
City official Ahn Cheol-soo, Director of the Green City Bureau, stated, "The pet-specialized street is not just a densely populated shopping area but a complex space where citizens can interact and heal with their pets while enjoying culture and shopping," and added, "We will continue to promote the activation of this place to expand the foundation of the pet industry and create a pet-friendly city."
