Dong-Eui University Hosts 'Busan Boccia Competition' with Korea Cerebral Palsy Welfare Association

[Financial News]  Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) held the '3rd Busan Boccia Competition with Dong-Eui University and the Korea Cerebral Palsy Welfare Association' at Hyomin Gymnasium on the 24th.
This competition, held to improve awareness of disabilities through sports and create a place for harmony, was hosted by the University Innovation Support Project Group of Dong-Eui University (Director Jo Jaegyun), the Regional Collaboration Center (Director Kim Chanyong), and the Korea Cerebral Palsy Welfare Association Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch (President Kim Youngjong), and organized by the Busan Brain Lesion Welfare Center (Director Lee Jueun).
Boccia is a sport similar to curling, where players throw or roll balls to score points by getting close to a target ball, and it is a special game designed for people with cerebral palsy.
This competition was held in a tournament format, divided into club, home, general, and integrated divisions, based on the players' experience, equipment, and team composition, with over 50 athletes participating.
The results of the competition were △ Club Division (Doubles) - Power Wheel Club Kim Seun, Kim Yongjun △ Home Division (Singles) - Harmony Club Heo Jonghak △ General Division (Doubles) - Busan Brain Lesion Welfare Center Park Byunghyun, Lee Imgyun △ Integrated Division (Doubles) - Busan Brain Lesion Welfare Center Baek Kyungmin, Dong-Eui University Park Nahee won first place in each category.

Additionally, Dong-Eui University students and faculty participated as volunteers, engaging in activities such as game recording, information desk, meal distribution, and photography, and also competed as integrated division players.
Park Seungwoo (4th year, Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering), who participated as a volunteer and player, said, "Although it was a short time, it was a happy experience to help others while working with people with disabilities," and "I will continue to look for activities where I can be of help and participate consistently."
Dong-Eui University Vice President for External Affairs Lee Imgeon said, "I believe this competition was a valuable time for participants to awaken the values of cooperation and sharing," and "Dong-Eui University will continue to take the lead in the university's role and cooperation for coexistence with the local community."
