Qualcomm Technologies announced on the 27th that it successfully held the 'Qualcomm IoT Partner & Tech Day' at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas Hotel on the 26th.
Qualcomm is accelerating innovation and creating new use cases by applying its Internet of Things (IoT) technology in various industrial fields such as home appliances, robotics, smart factories, manufacturing, and logistics. This event was organized to strengthen cooperation with domestic clients and partners, especially developers, in the industrial and embedded IoT fields and to share Qualcomm's next-generation technology and solutions based on its On-device AI.
On this day, over 200 attendees from major clients and partners shared visions and enhanced their understanding of Qualcomm's technology roadmap and solutions. In particular, Qualcomm highlighted its industrial B2B brand, Qualcomm Dragonwing, announced earlier this year. Qualcomm Dragonwing is a B2B platform brand that combines AI, high-performance, low-power computing, and various connectivity, covering B2B areas such as industrial IoT, embedded IoT, networking, and infrastructure solutions.
At this event, the product roadmap of the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ series, as well as the OS roadmap and policies for Qualcomm Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows 11 IoT, were also revealed. The Qualcomm Dragonwing RB3 2nd generation development kit and Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-9075 evaluation kit, useful for developers' rapid evaluation and prototyping of Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT processors, were introduced.
Additionally, the recently acquired Edge Impulse's MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) solutions and application cases were introduced, emphasizing the enhancement of developer-centric AI service capabilities and the acceleration of on-device AI adoption in various industries.
Furthermore, Qualcomm introduced various development tools for efficient on-device AI development, such as the Qualcomm AI Hub and Qualcomm Device Cloud, showcasing technological capabilities that practically support technology acceleration and innovation. The Qualcomm Intelligent Multimedia SDK, essential for multimedia and machine learning service development, was introduced and demonstrated, and the Qualcomm Intelligent Robotics Product SDK, which includes various software (SW) modules and SDKs necessary for industrial and home appliance robot development, such as VSLAM and Qualcomm AI Engine Direct, was also covered in detail.
At the venue, demo booths of eight partners, including Advantech, Thundercomm, Unitrontech, Maum AI, Nota AI, Cochl, MDS Technology, and Withrobot, which developed IoT hardware and on-device AI software solutions based on the Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT processor, were operated, facilitating active on-site exchanges among participants.
Oh-Hyung Kwon, President of Qualcomm Asia Pacific and Senior Vice President of the headquarters, expressed gratitude to the partners who have been on the journey together, commemorating Qualcomm's 40th anniversary, and said, "Qualcomm is leading the digital transformation across industries with its mission to implement intelligent computing everywhere, through high-performance, low-power computing, AI, and industry-leading connectivity technology," adding, "We will continue to support comprehensively to implement new IoT applications that can innovate customers' products and businesses by organically combining hardware, software, and services."
