Operating 'Chungnam Foreign Global Center'... Accelerating Customized Support Projects
Chungnam Provincial Office
[Financial News] Chungnam Province is speeding up efforts to lay the foundation for the influx of international talent and the stable settlement of foreigners through forward-looking immigration policies.
According to Chungnam Province on the 27th, the 'Chungcheongnam-do Foreign Global Center' was established and is being operated in Asan City to comprehensively and systematically establish and implement foreign-related policies since last March. This center serves as the command center for Chungnam Province's foreign policy sector.
The number of foreign residents in Chungnam Province is 155,589, ranking first nationwide in terms of foreign population ratio, and it is increasing every year. The Foreign Global Center was established to proactively respond to these demographic changes and to promote the stable settlement and social integration of foreigners.
The center is promoting various support projects covering the entire cycle from attracting foreign talent to settlement. First, to attract excellent foreign talent, overseas recruitment briefings are held, and customized talent recruitment and visa conversion are supported according to the needs of local companies and universities. In addition, Korean language education, life and culture education, and cultural experience programs are operated to help foreigners adapt early, and efforts are being made to build a communication network for exchanges between locals and foreigners.
A 'Foreign Supporters' group composed of foreigners is also operated to promote the province's foreign policies from the perspective of foreigners, gather opinions, and provide various opportunities for participation such as policy proposals.
Projects for the economic independence and employment linkage of foreign students are also being carried out simultaneously. Through the Chungnam-style work-study program, part-time employment and field training for foreign students are supported, and technology education programs based on local company demand are operated, and visa conversion consultations and consulting are also planned for foreigners who wish to find employment and settle.
Chungnam Province plans to continue to strengthen cooperation with companies, universities, and related organizations to diversify foreign attraction strategies and continuously promote policy development and support projects for social integration of locals and foreigners.
The center is located at the Asan Branch of the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency on Eunhaengnamu-gil in Asan City, and detailed inquiries about various support projects can be made through the representative phone during operating hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
A Chungnam Province official said, “We expect to proactively respond to the population decline issue and invigorate the local economy by attracting and supporting the stable settlement of foreigners,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to diversify foreign attraction strategies and promote policies for social integration.”
