Applications accepted until June 29... Web3 Security Talent Development Program
[Financial News] Upbit operator Dunamu announced on the 27th that it is recruiting participants for the 3rd batch of the Web3 security talent development program 'Upside Academy'.
Dunamu and cybersecurity specialist company Tiori jointly operate Upside Academy, offering a practical curriculum specialized in cybersecurity, Web3, and blockchain security.
Domestic security technology experts currently active in the field will participate as mentors, providing knowledge and experience through a personalized 1-on-1 mentoring approach. Additionally, as a university credit-linked academy course, it is currently collaborating with five universities including Korea University, Kyonggi University, Ajou University, Soongsil University, and Sejong University, with up to 12 credits recognized.
The 3rd batch of Upside Academy will also select a small elite group of 20 people, similar to the 1st and 2nd batches. Intensive education combining theory and practice will be conducted over approximately four months, seven days a week, from August 18 to December 19. All participants will be provided with the latest MacBook Pro, a monthly learning support fund of 1 million won per person, and an activity fee of 250,000 won per team. To ensure a safe and optimized learning environment, industrial accident insurance, individual study spaces, and snack bars are also provided.
With the recent increase in awareness of security threats due to hacking incidents, the 3rd batch of Upside Academy will significantly strengthen the Web2 cybersecurity curriculum as well as Web3. In response to increasingly sophisticated hacking, participants will acquire the latest technology trends and develop quick judgment and crisis response skills regarding security vulnerabilities through various case-based practical training.
Even after the official course is completed, participants will be offered various follow-up support programs such as follow-up projects and research support, global conference presentations, and employment networking.
Anyone interested in the field of cybersecurity, from university students to working professionals, can apply. Applications can be submitted on the Upside Academy website until June 29, and successful candidates will be selected through a practical test and interview.
Jung Jae-yong, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Dunamu, said, "Upside Academy is a talent development program that fully embodies the accumulated experience and know-how of experts in the existing blockchain, Web3, and cybersecurity fields," and added, "We ask for the interest and support of security enthusiasts who will lead the Web3 ecosystem in Korea."
Park Se-jun, CEO of Tiori, said, "The field of cybersecurity can grow alone, but there is more to achieve together. For accelerated growth, a sense of solidarity, camaraderie, and pure curiosity are important, and right now, Upside Academy is equipped with all of these," and added, "We look forward to welcoming excellent young people to join the 3rd journey of Upside Academy."
