[Financial News] In Daegu, a man in his 20s was arrested by the police for honking his car horn to disrupt a campaign and then driving his car towards campaign workers who were protesting.
On the 26th, Daegu Suseong Police Station booked Mr. A in his 20s for violating the Public Official Election Act and is investigating.
Mr. A is accused of honking his car horn to disrupt the Democratic Party's campaign site held at Sinmae Square, Suseong-gu, Daegu, at around 6:10 PM that day.
He honked his horn several times while passing by the campaign site, and when campaign workers protested and clung to his car, he dragged them about 10 meters.
In the process, several campaign workers, including Mr. B, fell to the ground and suffered bruises.
It is known that Mr. A was not driving under the influence, and the police are investigating the details of the incident with Mr. A and witnesses.
A police official said, "After investigating the involved parties, we plan to handle the case and will continue to respond strictly to serious election crimes such as election violence."
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party's Daegu City Party Election Countermeasures Committee issued a statement calling it "a clear act of political terrorism" and demanded "prompt and thorough response from the relevant authorities."
