Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 26th that its main branch academy will relocate to the nearby Mesa Building and begin operations on the 27th.
The newly opened academy has expanded its space by 50% compared to the previous location, now occupying approximately 300 pyeong and taking up the entire ninth floor as a dedicated area.
Shinsegae Department Store has increased its K-Culture courses by 30%, leveraging the area's popularity among both domestic and international residents and tourists.
Signature offerings include the 'Royal Heritage Tea Ceremony,' which explores the tea culture of the Joseon royal court; 'Modern Minhwa: Hojakdo,' a reinterpretation of traditional Korean folk painting; and 'K-Cooking: Royal Korean Beef Tteokgalbi,' a class on palace cuisine.
Additionally, to meet the needs of nearby office workers, the academy has significantly expanded its weekday evening classes after 6 p.m.
Considering that a significant portion of main branch students are over 60, the academy is also offering wellness-focused courses such as 'Detox Dinner Box & Basic Yoga' and 'Senior Stretching Ballet.'
The academy space is divided into the 'Studio' for general customers and the 'Shinsegae Salon' exclusively for VIP clients.
A representative from Shinsegae Academy stated, "We aim to develop the academy into a hub for K-Culture learning and a platform to spread Korean culture," adding, "We also plan to broaden leisure and hobby opportunities for a diverse range of customers."
