"Let's Enact a Law to Support the National Barefoot Walking Movement" National Assembly Policy Forum Concludes

On the 16th, the 'National Assembly Policy Forum for the Enactment of a Law to Support the National Barefoot Walking Movement' was held successfully in the main conference room of the National Assembly Members' Office Building, with more than 500 attendees, the National Barefoot Walking Movement Headquarters announced on the 18th. 

The forum, co-hosted by the office of National Assembly member Lee Gaeho of the Democratic Party of Korea and the National Barefoot Walking Movement Headquarters, featured the first presentation of clinical research results titled 'The Effect of Barefoot Walking Grounding on Melatonin Production' conducted by Professor Go Jangmyeon of the National Hanbat University Barefoot Walking Life Science Research Institute.

Additionally, Lee Geumnyeo, former principal of Daegu Gwanchon Elementary School, presented an astonishing case where the implementation of barefoot walking classes from 2013 to 2017 improved students' cognitive intensity and ability, and reduced the absenteeism rate from 23.5% in 2013 to 15.1% in 2017. 

Coincidentally, Lee Gaeho, who is visiting India as a special envoy of President Lee Jaemyung, conveyed in a video greeting, "Barefoot walking, which anyone can practice without cost, is a healing exercise in daily life and can also contribute to reducing health insurance expenses," adding, "Now is the time for active support at the national level."

Also, at this forum, National Assembly Vice Speaker Joo Ho-young, along with members Seo Younggyo, Han Junho, Park Gyuntaek, Yeom Taeyoung, An Dogeol, Moon Jeongbok, and Park Heeseung, expressed their intention to participate in the enactment of the 'Law to Support the National Barefoot Walking Movement' so that barefoot walking paths can be created nationwide and all citizens can become healthier.

Park Dongchang, chairman of the National Barefoot Walking Movement Headquarters, who prepared this forum, said, "Barefoot walking is not just a simple exercise but a natural healing method that directly affects overall health, and it has now been scientifically proven," adding, "If this bill passes the National Assembly, a new era of health where all our citizens become healthy by walking barefoot will open."
