[Financial News] Korea Expressway Corporation announced that on the 17th, it signed an agreement with Gangneung City at the National Assembly Members' Office for the installation of the 'Donghae Expressway Jeongdongjin Hi-Pass IC (towards Sokcho)'.
Jeongdongjin Hi-Pass IC will be installed in the area of Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung City, between Namgangneung IC and Okgye IC, and will connect to National Route 7. An average daily traffic of 2,500 vehicles is expected, with a total project cost of 29.6 billion KRW.
Korea Expressway Corporation will carry out the detailed design, permits, and construction, while Gangneung City will be responsible for land compensation. The project is planned to start detailed design this year and aim for completion by 2028.
President Ham Jin-gyu said, "With this agreement, highway accessibility in Jeongdongjin and nearby areas will be greatly improved," and "We will proceed with the project without delay to expand mobility rights and revitalize the local economy."
