【Financial News Gangneung=Reporter Kim Ki-seop】Gangneung City is working to establish a home medical cooperation care system with local medical institutions to respond to the super-aged society.
According to Gangneung City on the 11th, a signing ceremony was held in the situation room on the 8th floor of the city hall with the attendance of Kim Hong-kyu, Mayor of Gangneung, Choi Anna, Director of Gangneung Medical Center, and Jung In-young, Director of the Gangneung Branch of the National Health Insurance Corporation, for the smooth promotion of the pilot project of the Long-term Care Home Medical Center.
As of June, Gangneung City has entered a super-aged society with a population aged 65 and over accounting for 26.9%, leading to increased elderly medical expenses and rising social readmission rates.
Accordingly, the core of this pilot project is to provide integrated home medical services by having a multidisciplinary team (doctors, nurses, social workers) visit the homes of elderly long-term care recipients who have difficulty moving to provide medical care, nursing, and resource linkage.
According to the agreement, Gangneung City will identify elderly people in need of home medical care among the integrated care recipients, Gangneung Medical Center will provide direct services through a dedicated home medical center, and the Health Insurance Corporation will cooperate by providing information on long-term care recipients.
Kim Hong-kyu, Mayor of Gangneung, said, “Through this agreement, we expect to create an environment where elderly people with mobility difficulties can receive medical services safely and comfortably at home,” and “We will do our best to establish a sustainable integrated care foundation centered on the local community.”
